calendar quotes:

Doctrine and Covenants 93:40 "but i have commanded you to bring up your children in light and truth."
"again, what manner of individuals ought we to be? like Christ!...that we have a great distance to go should not keep us from continuing the journey."-Elder Neal A. Maxwell

we had scout camp at the start of the month, it was perfect weather. this is my troop-they are a blast!
brooke had t-ball...i coached her team again this year with my friend lisa marie. i love t-ball! and i love brookes outfit she picked out for herself;)

we had such a cute little team-only 6 players and this was the only day they were all there!
we had lots more rain again this month too...the kids mostly just played right through it all-we were very muddy. this day they went out to jump in the rain with their swim suits on and got cold so they put their bath robes on-silly.
this is the kind of trouble my kids get into when they are cooped up too long!
at the end of the month i was on a relay 4 life team and we did an all night walk to raise money for cancer research(we almost raised $1400 as a team and over $30,000 as a community)-it was a really neat experience and very inspiring...especially since brookes favorite little friend sirri is a cancer survivor.
we always cram so much into summer, it's alot of fun but also a little wearing on the kids...koy got sent to time-out and this is where i found him when i returned, asleep in kents work bag.

calendar quotes:

"a house can be a home and a home can be heaven when it shelters a family."-president Monson

Micah 7:8 "when i sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me."

well may couldn't have got any busier but i guess i haven't slowed down much since i'm just getting around to posting this:) the beginning of the month we had a group birthday party for brooke, ashley and tyree...my mom and dad got a hotel room so we invaded the pool and had lots of fun.

aunt christy made the heaviest pinata ever and the kids had a blast loading up on the loot!
the next day we helped out tyler with his eagle project, cleaning and fixing up a park and then we headed to aunt christys house for some more fun...my kids love LOVE their aunt christys house. koy decided to try out one of the swing set holes-
uncle dave gave them some good ol' tractor rides-koy loved it!
we finally warmed up some and got some outdoor activities in...the kids were so excited to get their bows out.
i have been wanting to climb "R mountain" for along time and so i finally decided to do it for family home evening: the kids did super great, koy stayed right up with the big kids and i tagged along with brooke in the back, her feet kept getting hot and i realized it probably was the longest she had tennis shoes on in a long time(that girl loves her flipys-yes, even in the winter) she did manage to get a few cartwheels in-even going uphill!
we made it to the top-it was so neat to see all the fields and the temple so small in the distance.
we talked about how when we see the R on the mountain it can remind us to be Righteous:)
koy graduated from pre-school, he still has another year before he goes to kindergarten-so we'll see what we do with him.
kelsi ran for jr. high student council, i was so proud of her-she didn't get elected but i think it was good for her to try and she looked so cute the morning of election...
we had lots of rain this year and i mean lots of rain.

we also had lots of baseball-kaden hung in there...it was kind of a long season, their team didn't win a single game and they didn't have much of a pitcher, so the other team got walked alot-it made for really long innings.so it was sort of frustrating for him. the weather was a little nicer than last year-so i enjoyed that. he was a sub for one of kelsi's softball games while she was at girls camp and he really enjoyed that alot better that baseball, so i think that is what we will sign him up for next year.
this is what koy looked like after one of kadens baseball games...only a face a mom could love!
brooke had her 6th birthday, we invited some family and neighbor friends and she really loved it.
brooke is so hard to buy presents for, she never asks for anything...so i guess she's happy with what she got-i think she was more excited with "annie annie over thy poor head, what you gonna do with a bump on the head?" she had a little friend who did this at her party and i told her we used to do that when we were younger too. she has reminded me for months to make sure and sing the present song:)
brooke was such a cute little baby. she was my only delivery that i had to be induced on and i don't think she would have ever came. she was also my biggest baby at 8 pounds 8 ounces. brooke was labeled my "hip hugger" because that is where she was at all hours of the day. she was not very content and also had rattly breathing which she was also labeled "darth vader". we went to many doctor appointments to figure out why she was so cranky but the only thing they found was she had an undeveloped esophagus(hence the rattly sound) but that wouldn't really cause discomfort. so the doctor said she was just a demanding baby. the really good thing about brooke was she would sleep all through the night and actually loved to lay in her bed and talk to everything! brooke also had and has a million nicknames, a few: soy sauce, saucer, brookers, brookerboo, boo, boo snap, snap, snappers, snap-a-doodle, snappy. oh, i love you brooke!
kaden and brooke had their gymnastics recital at the end of the month...they both improved alot and did well. kaden said he wasn't going to take next year, i was a little sad but he will try piano and we will see how that goes. brooke of course will keep doing gymnastics: she loves to flip and turn upside down all day long!
when you have a busy month this is sometimes how you find your kids-all exhausted...
WHAT A MONTH!
