basements
when we were growing up nobody wanted to go in the basement...it was dark and damp and smelled! my brothers eventually grew into their bravery and moved to the basement-but i never liked to be down there alone. so i was very surprised when kelsi started begging me to move to the basement. where did all this bravery come from? i mean, even as a grown adult i don't like to sleep alone or sleeping on the trampoline totally freaks me out- i can't sleep on the ends. well-kelsi has been in the basement awhile now and i have to say she has improved it...especially the smell! it usually smells all fruity and sweet down there now...i kinda like going down there just for the smell. kelsi is so much like her dad in this manner: the smellier the shampoo, or lotion, or detergent, or plug-in the better! and really how could someone so cute...
ever smell anything but sweet!

another month come and gone-we had plenty to keep us busy. i started a part-time job at the school as a lunch lady. i wanted to find a cute cartoon picture to put on the blog but apparently i'm the only one who thinks lunch ladies are cute and happy! i really have enjoyed working at the school-such positive energy from those kids and i love when they all stop to say hi and brooke always comes visit me when she's done eating. it is amazing how my schedule has abruptly changed, i didn't think 3 hours would be that big of deal...i guess i get more done in 3 hours than i thought, so i am still trying to catch up and enjoy life-i refuse not to have fun! kelsi keeps us busy on the weekends with her volleyball tournaments lasting all day on saturdays. i helped put together a book fair at kadens school and it went way better than we all thought it would...
we ran out of food-not good, but well attended. kelsi earned her young woman recognition award.she did amazing and set most of the goals by herself, she is so responsible and such a hard worker when she wants to accomplish something...
i don't think there is anything more beautiful than a righteous young woman! she is currently reading the book of mormon for the second time: in the young woman program you earn a worker bee medallion each time you re-read the book of mormon...she wants to try to read it every year-what a goal and such a good example! koy had to get his immunizations for kindergarten next year, koy is never too bothered by doctor visits but the nurse thought he needed some bribing-she said if he held real still each time they gave him a shot she would give him a sucker for each shot. well he had 6 shots and got 6 suckers...
i should have told her she didn't need to bride koy-but he looks pretty pleased :) brooke went shopping with kent and i at sams club...she saw this barrel of cheese balls and begged to have them, she said they're just like on alvin and the chipmunks-she carried them all over the store...
we munched on them on the way home and she must have ate too many because she can barely stand to look at the barrel in the pantry! and to end the month we had kaden's pine wood derby for scouts. he was super excited how his car turned out! it looked super fast but when we sent it down the track the first time it barely made it to the finish...i was nervous, there was no dad there to graphite the wheels or make adjustments...but typical of kaden, he said it's okay if i don't win-this is still awesome!
you're a winner in by book kaden!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
